Disturbing crime statistics have revealed a shocking rise in offence rates, indicating a rise in assaults, break ins, public nuisances and drug offences in the last 12 months.

Data released by the Queensland Police Service through its Online Crime Map detailed the stunning increase in offences in the Dalby district, which encompassed areas such as Ducklo, Nandi, Blaxland, and more.

The periods between May 2021—May 2020 and May 2020—May 2019 were compared, with a notable increase seen in traffic related offences, which showed a rise from 330 the previous year to 364.

Drivers such as Alex Anthony Jacobs were pinned in the last 12 months, with the 32-year-old father returning a reading of 0.240 roadside on April 17, 2021.

Adam Carl Shakespeare was another statistic that added to the rise in traffic offences, with the Dalby father reversing into a Drayton Street shop while more than four times the limit.

Assaults sky rocketed from 72 to 129 when the last two years were compared, with Nigel Robert Turnbull’s common assault offence being one of the many.

It’s understood the offenders then stole two firearms before fleeing the scene.

Unlawful entry of homes and businesses rose from 82 to 85, with a break in occurring earlier this month along Hospital Road, attesting to this increase in property crime.

An unknown number of offenders were believed to have entered a residence about 12.30am on May 1 while the occupants slept.

Dalby police said they entered through an unlocked door and stole a mobile phone, wallet, and an amount of cash.

Good order offences, which involve offences of public nuisance and public intoxication, also rose from 256 in 2019 to 2020, to 300 in 2020-2021.

Nathan John Hinch’s boozed filled evening on January 9 would be included in these figures, after he was arrested for committing a public nuisance and obstructing police.
