Named: Drug or drink drivers sentenced in Dalby Magistrates Court

A series of drivers have faced Dalby Magistrates Court charged with a slew of offences including drink driving and driving while unlicensed.

Several drivers have faced Dalby Magistrates Court charged with a variety of road offences.

NO CONVICTION RECORDED

• David Patrick Egan pleaded guilty to driving while under the influence after police pulled over his vehicle on Dalby Rd in Jandowae on January 25.

The police-issued drug test detected THC in his saliva and he was also found in possession of a knife.

The 57-year-old, who works on a farm, said the knife was used for cutting zip ties and opening cans of dog food.

Magistrate Kyna Morice said Egan had co-operated with police and issued him a $500 fine, a one month license suspension and recorded no conviction.

• Meanwhile on March 24 on Nicholson St Dalby a 31-year-old man was detected driving under the influence.

Jesse Alfred Bernard Christensen was issued an RBT by police where he blew a reading of 0.63.

Christensen pleaded guilty to driving under the influence and received a $500 fine, two months licence suspension and no conviction.

• Tori Skye Jane Norford also faced court charged with driving without a licence where she pleaded guilty.

The court was told Norford, 25, was driving along Beardmore St in Tara when police discovered she had failed to renew her licence.

She was fined $300 and received no licence disqualification or conviction.
