Dalby police have arrested and charged a 31-year-old man after an alleged two-day vehicle rampage across the Western Downs.

Justin Raymond O’Neil has been charged with a number of offences including dangerous operation and unlawful use of a motor vehicle and wilful damage.

Police from across the region responded to a number of incidents involving an allegedly stolen white Toyota LandCruiser committing offences, allegedly including the theft of fuel, attempted theft of property and ramming vehicles.

The car was allegedly stolen from Wallumbilla South on Monday, September 30.

A Queensland police spokesman said they had received reports that Mr O’Neil had allegedly crashed into several cars on Sunday and was seen driving erratically around the Moonie area.

They received further reports on Monday that he had allegedly crashed into another vehicle and drove through several rural properties, destroying gates and fences.

As a result of multiple reports from members of the public, police were able to locate the vehicle in Ducklo about 9.30am Tuesday October 1.

Police attempted to intercept the vehicle before it evaded police and broke through multiple fences and gates in the Ducklo and Kumbarilla areas.

Police units received backup from Brisbane Polair about 10.45am on Tuesday, helping to locate the driver who allegedly become bogged.

Mr O’Neil then allegedly attempted to escape on foot before being quickly apprehended by police.

He has been charged with two counts of entering premises with intent, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, attempted unlawful use of a motor vehicle, stealing of motor vehicle, three counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, evading police, three counts of wilful damage, two counts of stealing, driving while disqualified and possessing dangerous drugs.

No application for Bail was made and his matters were adjourned to the November 5.
