A series of unlicensed drivers were sentenced in Dalby Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

From a man who was unlicensed for a year and a half to a teenager caught riding a peewee 50, these are the drivers who appeared.

John Stephen Nevell

Nevell, 60, faced court on Tuesday pleading guilty to driving without a licence on Tara Kogan Rd on January 9, 2025.

The court was told police detected Nevell at about 12.50pm driving a white Honda sedan and issued him with a licence check.

The check revealed Nevell had been unlicensed for a staggering 461 days with him saying he had simply forgotten to renew his licence.

When magistrate Kathleen Payne asked Nevell if he had anything to say for himself he said “I’m foolish and I’m guilty”.

He was fined $250 and no conviction was recorded.

Jacques Rossouw

Rossouw, 19, appeared in court pleading guilty to riding a motorbike while unregistered, uninsured, unlicensed, not wearing a helmet and riding a defected bike.

The court was told on January 15, 2025 police intercepted Rossouw on Nicholson St, Dalby about 5.30pm riding a Peewee 50cc motorbike.

Due to the bike’s small size and it not having lights or an indicator the motorbike was not road worthy and Rossouw was hit with the five charges.

He was fined $700 and no conviction was recorded.

Kaidyn Scott Moore

Moore, 25, faced court pleading guilty to one count of driving while unlicensed.

The court was told on December 24, 2024 Moore was intercepted on Marble St Dalby at about 7.37pm where he was revealed to be unlicensed.

Moore’s licence had been suspended just six days earlier.

Ms Payne said while Moore didn't have the best driving history due to his licence only being suspended a few days prior to being intercepted he would be sentenced at a lower threshold.

He was fined $250 and no conviction was recorded.
