A number of people were sentenced for driving offences in Dalby Magistrates Court on Tuesday:
NO CONVICTION RECORDED
• Courtney Rose Mearns Mclellan
Mclellan faced Dalby Magistrates Court, pleading guilty to driving without a licence following an incident on June 15 in Dalby.
The court was told Mclellan was pulled over by police at about 11.30pm on Bunya St where they discovered she was unlicensed due to an unpaid infringement notice.
Mclellan said she was unaware she was unlicensed believing her husband had paid the fine.
She was issued a $150 fine and no conviction was recorded.
• Corey Wayne Lions
Lions appeared in court pleading guilty to speeding and driving over the middle alcohol limit on July 25 in Kogan.
The court was told that at about 8.10pm police detected Lions travelling 112km/h in the 100km/h zone on Kogan Rd.
After being pulled over he was subject to a breath test and returned a reading of 0.120, more than twice the legal limit.
The court was told Lions had twice previously been busted for drink driving, blowing similar readings both times.
He was fined $350 with no conviction.
• Jade Dale Berghofer
Berghofer appeared by phone and pleaded guilty to driving with a suspended licence after police pulled over his vehicle on the Warrego Highway near Bowenville on October 4.
He was fined $500, received a six month licence disqualification and no conviction was recorded.
• Beau David Wedrat
Wedrat appeared in the Dalby Magistrates Court pleading guilty to two counts of driving with a relevant drug in his salvia.
The court was told that on July 9 Wedrat was subject to a drug test on Cunningham St, Dalby blowing positive to methamphetamine and THC.
Nine days later on July 18 Wedrat was again subject to a drug test on Charles St, Dalby and once again blew positive for methamphetamine and THC.
The 21 year-old driver was on his P plates at the time.
Magistrate Kathleen Payne questioned Wedrat about his employment with him refusing to give a straight answer, telling the court he was employed but didn't know the name of his boss, where he worked or what he did for a job.
When Ms Payne asked him to produce his phone and call his boss Wedrat suggested his phone was flat.
Ms Payne said Wedrat had “wasted enough of the court’s time and didn't appear remorseful” and ordered he pay $700 in fines to go with a seven month loss of licence.
No conviction was recorded.
