A mother said her decision to enter a Dalby church and carry out a chilling attack that involved dubbing members “Satanists” and assaulting another woman was a matter of “life and death”.

Mollie Rachael Bruce sent an email to her victim shortly before she attacked her, warning the church not to hold its communion that afternoon or she would, “flick their s---”.

Police prosecutor Derek Brady told Dalby Magistrates Court the 27-year-old woman walked into the Pratten Street church on August 9 and found the other woman in the office.

“She stated, ‘we’re all Satanists and your blood will be on my hands’,” Sergeant Brady said.

The court heard the frightened victim shut the office door, but then fell back onto a printer when Bruce pushed it open again.

“(Bruce) walked further in the office and threw a filing tray at the victim, who was in the far corner,” Sergeant Brady said.

“She approached her and threw a lunch and tissue box at her as well.

“She said it was due to religious disagreement and said members of the church were Satanists.”

When police arrested the woman at her home they found marijuana and a bong.

Bruce has been in trouble with the law before when she was sentenced for drunk driving in 2017 and appeared on the show ‘Territory Cops’.

Defence lawyer Julia Molloy said her client described herself as a “believer” and claimed the assault was a matter of “life or death”.

“She used to have a good relationship with (the church) and said it’s not the organisation she once thought it was,” Ms Molloy said.

“She flipped out because she didn’t feel she was being heard.”

Acting magistrate Rob Turra condemned the woman’s “bizarre” actions.

“It really is disgraceful behaviour to people who have done you no harm whatsoever,” he said.

“It would’ve been scary for that victim and no matter what your belief system is you just have no right to impose the will on others and indeed to assault them.”

Bruce pleaded guilty to entering a premises and committing an indictable offence, wilful damage, common assault, and possessing drugs and utensils.

She was placed on probation for nine months and no conviction was recorded.
