A Dalby man was busted with a significant amount of meth during a drug-trafficking investigation over the weekend, police allege.

Jack Andrew Dukes was intercepted by Dalby police on Saturday night, April 22 after he allegedly evaded authorities earlier in the evening while driving the Toowoomba range.

The amount of meth found on Mr Dukes is said to have exceeded 200 grams, which has a potential street value of up to $100,000.

Detective Inspector Gary Watts said the 28-year-old man was found with a “considerable” amount of meth on him during a search of the vehicle after he was pulled over on Hawthorne St in Dalby.

“(Mr Dukes) was located due to the excellent work from Dalby police,” he said.

The man who was arrested and taken to the Toowoomba watch house has been charged with one count each of trafficking dangerous drugs, possession, evading police and possessing utensils in relation to drugs.

He appeared at Toowoomba Magistrates Court Monday morning, where a brief of evidence was ordered and he has been remanded in custody until next mention June 19.
