One car is missing and another was found torched almost an hour away from Dalby, as burglaries continue to plague small businesses in the region.

Dalby police were investigating two break-ins over the past seven days, with the offenders still on the run.

Senior Sergeant Terry McCullough said brazen thieves broke into Dalby Price-Rite Cars along Winton Street late Thursday night.

Police say the crims cut a padlock on the side gate and stole a 1996 Ford Transit Van and a Toyota HiLux.

The van was located burnt out 50km west of Dalby along Kumbarilla Lane in Kumbarilla, while the HiLux was still outstanding.

Sergeant McCullough said between July 31 and August 2, thieves also broke into a scrap metal business along Drew Street.

He said the offenders broke in through a front window to enter the premises, and fled with hand tools.

Investigations are continuing into both break-ins.
