The Moonie Highway at Kumbarilla, south west of Dalby, remains closed after a fuel tanker crash.

Two prime movers collided about 4.30am, spilling a large amount of diesel and petrol fuel across the road.

Queensland Ambulance Service reports the two drivers were able to remove themselves from the wreckage prior to paramedics arrival.

They treated the two men for minor eye and head injured and transported them by road to the Dalby Hospital.

An exclusion zone was put in place for several hours, with Queensland Police Service issuing an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act on Tuesday morning.

A QPS spokeswoman said the PSPA was lifted just before 5pm, with the highway remaining closed and diversions in place due to damage to the road.
