CCTV footage captures alleged thieves stealing from Dalby shop

Police are investigating after a man was caught on CCTV allegedly stealing expensive radio equipment from Leading Edge Computers in Dalby.

Shop owner Colin Fountain said the man and the woman he was with were “under the guise” of browsing customers.

“The fellow reached up when I turned away from him and pulled the item off the shelf, and kept it out of view using his body,” Mr Fountain said.

The man allegedly placed the “expensive” equipment at the front of the store - a four-pack of GME white yellow handheld radios - and continued wandering around the store before allegedly picking up the item and leaving.

A woman followed him out soon after.

Mr Fountain said she “left in a hurry” and “looked suspicious”, which prompted him to check his security camera.

“The way they were both wandering around the store, you’d have to be a chameleon to keep an eye on both of them,” he said.

A Queensland Police spokesman said police are reviewing the footage and currently have no suspects.

Anyone with information should phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
