POLICE admit they are struggling to solve the murders of a Gold Coast bikie and his business partner, and have dramatically moved to re-enact the slayings in a bid for public assistance.

Comanchero bikie gang member Shane Ross, 36, and his Monstr Clothing business partner Cameron Martin, 47, were shot dead during a clandestine meeting at a Tallebudgera park on October 18.

Police now think bikie slaying may be double murder

Both are believed to have been gunned down in or near Martin Sheils Park about two hours after they were seen drinking with associates at the Pimpama Tavern 45km north.

Mr Martin’s body was found in the wreckage of a white Mercedes that crashed into a tree 1km from the park and it was initially thought he had died from his injuries.

But a post-mortem revealed he had been shot in the chest.

The body of Mr Ross, who was shot in the head, was found by relatives in bushland near the park on October 21.

Police have set up a re-enactment scene at the park, including a replica of the 2015 white Mercedes, in a bid to jog the public’s memory.

They plan to stop motorists passing the site tonight in the hope of gaining vital information.

Detective Acting Inspector Chris Tritton, of Gold Coast CIB, admitted the investigation had “stalled to a degree”.

“As we know with homicide investigations, the crucial time for investigators (to get evidence) is in the first 48 hours and unfortunately in this case we’ve lost that opportunity,” he said.

“So we’re here today to make a public appeal for information from the public who may have witnessed the scene who came through this area (on the night of the murders).”

Insp Tritton denied the investigation had hit a “dead end”.

“We don’t have a dead end … we know this will be a lengthy investigation,” he said.

“We have people talking to us - we’re making many investigations - but at this point we don’t have any directions that we can rely on, so we’re really relying on the public to assist us.”
