23,000 boot-scootin’ fans are set to descend on Willowbank for the 18th running of the event, which once featured globally renowned artist Taylor Swift.

The showstoppers for this year are set to be Cody Johnson, Jon Pardi, and Thomas Rhett.

Even Brisbane’s Amy Sheppard will be there along with Travis Collins and upcoming duo Zac and George.

At the end of the day it is all about having fun and enjoying the live performances – everyone should wear what they feel comfortable in.

Nothing is ever truly erased from the internet. All it takes is one innocent selfie … and you’re known forever as the person who wore rainbow crocs to a music festival.

These are some of the fashion faux pas we hope to avoid seeing people wear at CMC Rocks this weekend.

DO NOT

Singlets

Look we know all too well how hot it can get at a festival, let alone a multi-day event. But let’s try to put some effort into the festival outfit. There’s a reason why singlets usually don’t make an appearance at New York Fashion Week.

A flannel with no sleeves

Look, we will accept the standard flannel shirt but if we see any with no sleeves we will be writing a formal complaint. The only exception is if you are cosplaying as a character from The Simpsons.

Tiny denim shorts

OK, so we know what we said about the baggy oversized jorts – don’t attack us. We are going to the opposite end of the spectrum with this. Nobody needs to see what you had for breakfast. Stockings will instantly elevate the look and give you a punk rock vibe. It’s not what we would wear for a country music festival but it avoids awkward accidental flashing.

Rompers

We have all seen them, the coloured patterned shirt connected to the shorts. The romper. We will not have it – we are way past it. We saw them a few years back and they became a fad trend. But there are still some people who are clinging on to the hype for dear life. Do yourself a favour – don’t buy them.

Crocs

We get it. Crocs are comfortable, but will they elevate your look? No. CMC Rocks is not the place to debut your new Crocs.

DO

Elevated cowboy boots

Nothing makes us happier than seeing a sparkly, shiny, colourful pair of cowboy boots. They are everywhere and we love it.

Bedazzling the life out of your outfit

There’s no reason why you can’t add a little glam to your look. Whether you look like you stepped out of the 1990s or if your earrings are every colour of the rainbow, bedazzling your outfit will never be an issue.

White cowboy hats

We love a white cowboy hat. It’s simple, it fits the theme and you will have additional protection from the sun’s harmful UV rays. It’s a win in our book.

Long skirts

There’s a reason why ‘Boho chic’ is so popular. Long skirts and patterned dresses aren’t just comfortable — they exude a free-spirited vibe and make the wearer appear effortlessly approachable.
