After spending over a week in hospital after the crash, the 59-year-old man was moved to the intensive care unit at the Princess Alexandra Hospital on August 22.

The serious crash occurred at Tara on Saturday, August 14, where he sustained life-threatening injuries to his head and face.

A Princess Alexandra Hospital spokeswoman said on Monday the man was moved to the ICU in a critical but stable condition.

A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said the man was travelling along Tara Kogan Road at Tara when he crashed on Saturday night.

“A male patient was transported in a serious condition to Tara Hospital,” she said.

A RACQ LifeFlight spokeswoman said a Toowoomba crew was tasked to transfer the man to the Princess Alexandra Hospital at 10.15pm.

It was a tragic weekend for serious crashes across the south west.

Earlier on the same Saturday and just an hour west from the crash, a 15-year-old boy was killed in a motorbike crash at a private property north of Glenmorgan.

The same day a quad bike rolled at a South Burnett property allegedly crushing a toddler’s abdomen.

The toddler was flown in a stable condition to the Queensland Children’s Hospital in Brisbane.

On Friday, a 46-year-old Toowoomba man was killed in a single-vehicle crash along Quilpie Adavale Road.
