Three men have been charged over an alleged armed robbery and assault that saw a 40-year-old Tara man flown to hospital with serious head injuries.

Police have charged three men following an alleged armed robbery and assault that saw a Tara man flown to hospital with serious head injuries.
Police allege around 1.40pm on February 20, a 40-year-old Tara man was stopped in his vehicle on Weranga North Rd when he was approached by three men known to him.
The three men allegedly drove their car towards the Tara man a number of times before exiting the vehicle and threatening the man with a metal implement and bladed weapon.
The three men then allegedly assaulted the Tara man, before stealing his car keys and fleeing the scene in their own vehicle.
The Tara man suffered serious head injuries and was flown to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition.
Police located the three men a short time later and they were taken into custody.
A 20-year-old Weranga man has been charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle, assault occasioning bodily harm and armed robbery.
A 27-year-old Marsden man and a 53-year-old Weranga man have both been charged with one count each of assault occasioning bodily harm and armed robbery.
They are all due to appear before Chinchilla Magistrates Court on March 9.
