Named: Offenders sentenced in Chinchilla Magistrates Court for drug driving offences

From being brought undone by medical cannabis to being caught out behind the wheel with meth in their system, here are the latest drug drivers to face Chinchilla Magistrates Court.

A number of offenders have faced Chinchilla Magistrates Court on Thursday, here’s what happened with their cases.

NO CONVICTION RECORDED

• Kelsie Joan Coupe pleaded guilty to driving while under the influence of drugs after police subjected her to a random RBT on January 27 in Chinchilla.

Police found traces of THC in Coupe’s saliva and she told police she had been using medical marijuana.

Coupe said she typically didn't drive after using the drug but was experiencing hardships at the time after the loss of her grandparents.

Magistrate Kyna Morice issued her with a $350 fine, a one month loss of licence and no conviction.

• Meanwhile Kenneth Robert Anderson also pleaded guilty to driving with drugs in his system after a random breath test on February 10 revealed the presence of methamphetamine.

Anderson admitted his action were “stupid” and he too received a $350 fine, a one month loss of licence and no conviction.
