Chinchilla residents who are due for their second dose of the coronavirus vaccine are being urged by the region’s health service to receive their second vaccine against the virus.
Executive lead for the Darling Downs Health emergency operations centre Annette Scott said the second dose was essential for people to receive the full benefits of vaccination.
“The latest advice from the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI) is that a two-dose vaccination schedule should be completed with the same vaccine,” Ms Scott said.
“We had a great turnout of people across the Western Downs, and it is now really important those people return for their second dose to ensure they are receiving the full benefit of their vaccinations.”
Those eligible to attend these clinics should have received information to confirm their appointments.
