A Miles teenager has landed himself in court yet again for breaching his bail conditions late last year.
Blade Isaac Smith pleaded guilty in Chinchilla Magistrates Court to breaching his bail conditions by not reporting to the Chinchilla police officer-in-charge within the agreed time frame.
On November 28, 2022 Smith failed to report to the police station between the hours of 9am and 3pm, which he is legally required to do every Monday since his bail conditions were ordered by the court in July 2022.
Police prosecutor Chris Hutchins said the defendant told police he had consumed too much alcohol the day before and simply forgot to report.
“He apologised and was remorseful,” he said.
“At this stage he does not have a conviction. This will be one of the last times he has the benefit of no conviction recorded.”
Magistrate Kyna Morice said she acknowledged his young age and the fact he hadn’t committed this type of offence before.
Smith received a $300 fine with no conviction recorded.
“The conviction is not recorded on this occasion, but if you keep coming back to court convictions will start being recorded against you which may have an impact on you getting employment and travelling,” the magistrate said.
