ROTONDO Weirich (RW), a company that specialises in modular housing in Latin America and the Middle East, has constructed a modular villa in just 24 hours.

The 2,500 square foot concrete villa is completely finished, with plumbing and electrical components already installed.

"Imagine assembling a secure, sustainable, villa in just one day, allowing for thousands to be built in half the time of traditional masonry construction. That's exactly what we have done," Ahmed Halet said on behalf of RW Middle East.

To complete in such record time, local Iraqi workers were trained in modular construction before the project started.

Framework arrived from the United States so that the villa could be erected on-site.

The speed of this construction has set the pace for future modular housing projects.

Once a project has been slated for construction, one four-bedroom villa can be produced per day per set of framework," RW president and chief executive officer Steve Weirich said.

Here in Australia, a similar project in Mackay resulted in the construction of a 3 storey student accommodation building at CQU Mackay campus comprising of 72 self contained accommodation suites.
