A YAMBA man who had his iPhone stolen during a spate of break-ins in Crystal Waters on Monday night has used online technology to locate the stolen item.

A YAMBA man who had his iPhone stolen during a spate of break-ins in the Crystal Waters area on Monday night has used online technology to locate the stolen item.

Police have confirmed the man made contact with them on Wednesday after he discovered the phone missing.

Using an online iPhone tracking application, the man was able to keep police posted on the phone's location, as it travelled around the streets of Yamba in a car.

The man, who did not want to be identified due to fear of repercussions, monitored the phone's location for more than 15 min- utes until the car it was travelling in stopped at a house in Robinson St.

On Wednesday The Daily Examiner learned two police had been called to attend the address at Ngaru village.

The police were seen attending and leaving the Robinson St address, but no further information was available on Wednesday as police were still investigating the incident.
