One of Queensland’s outback attractions has been highlighted as one of the nation’s top bucket list items according to youngsters across the country.
The Australian Dinosaur Trail came in seventh of 13, revealed a recent survey from leading travel company Wotif, searching for the ultimate bucket list destinations across the country as voted by kids under 13.
The outback attraction, which spans from Winton to Hughenden and Richmond, allows visitors to follow in the footsteps of prehistoric creatures that once roamed the land.
Each of the towns involved have their own unique dinosaur stories to tell, with a range of different fossils, skeletons and interactive experiences not available anywhere else in the world.
Visitors are encouraged to explore the different attractions over five-days, while exploring everything else the region has to offer.
Queensland was home to almost half of the final destinations, with the Gold Coast theme parks (No. 1) and the Great Barrier Reef (No. 2) at the top of the list.
Wotif managing director Daniel Finch said the findings showed wanderlust was alive and well in the next generation of travellers.
“We want to inspire families to get exploring and look for education outside of the classroom,” he said.
“From Australia’s rich culture, unique wildlife, and diverse geography, we hope the Aussie Kids Bucket List motivates families to get their kids involved in the holiday planning and commit to seeing some of the incredible sights in Australia.”
The bucket list comes just in time for the Queensland mid year school holidays, which run through to July 11.
