A man and a woman have been flown to hospital after they were attacked by a dog on their rural Queensland property.

Two people have been flown to hospital after a horrific dog attack in the North Burnett.

Two LifeFlight helicopters airlifted the man and woman to hospital, after they were attacked by a dog on a property in the North Burnett.

The Land Rover LifeFlight Special Mission helicopter was initially sent to the scene around 4.45pm on Thursday afternoon.

The Bundaberg-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was also tasked, around an hour later.

Both helicopters were able to land at the scene and the aeromedical crews on board worked together to treat the injured patients.

Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics, Queensland Police Service officers and Queensland Fire and Emergency Service personnel were also in attendance.

The Bundaberg RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew flew the man, aged in his 40s, to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital (SCUH).

The Land Rover LifeFlight Special Mission helicopter flew the woman to the Sunshine Coast LifeFlight base, from where she was transported to SCUH via road, by QAS paramedics and an RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor.

Both suffered multiple injuries.

The latest dog attack comes after a Gympie region mother lived her worst nightmare when she was left holding her eight-year-old son’s skin together after he was mauled by a dog.

Single mum Brooke Van Der Maat, a former soldier screamed as blood spurted from little Oscar’s his face and neck on the night of Tuesday, November 23.

Neighbour Edith Mannion recounted the traumatic ordeal to the Gympie Times, including the moment where the little boy asked his mother if he was going to die.

Now, photos have emerged showing the extent of Oscar’s horrific injuries.
