Police suspect alcohol involved in serious car rollover on Gayndah Mundubbera Road in Mt Debateable

Police have warned the North Burnett region is experiencing an increase in serious crashes after a woman was airlifted following an early morning rollover.

Police suspect alcohol may have contributed to an early morning crash in Mount Debateable, which resulted in a woman being airlifted to hospital with a head injury.

Gayndah officer-in-charge Sergeant Don Auld said the 22-year-old crashed and rolled her car on Gayndah Mundubbera Road at 12.45am on Saturday, August 21.

She suffered a head injury and was flown the Bundaberg Hospital in a stable condition.

“Police suspect that alcohol was a factor in this crash and are awaiting the result of a blood analysis,” Sergeant Auld said.

“Gayndah Police are reminding motorists that drink driving is just not worth the risk to your life and those who use our roads.”

Sergeant Auld said police are concerned that the Wide Bay Burnett region is continuing to see a rise in serious injury and fatal car crashes.
