Man flown to hospital after fall from horse on North Burnett property

A man in his 40s has been flown to hospital in a serious condition after he fell from a horse on a property northeast of Monto.

A man in his 40s was flown to hospital after a fall from a horse on a rural property left him with serious head injuries.

A Lifeflight press release stated a Bundaberg rescue helicopter was called about 8.30am on Thursday morning.

It is believed the man was riding a horse “at speed” on a private property northeast of Monto when he fell and was left unconscious, the press release stated.

The pilot landed the chopper close to the scene and the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service Flight Paramedic then assisted local paramedics.

The man was treated for head injuries before he was flown to Bundaberg Hospital.

He was in a serious but stable condition.
