Police say the 44-year-old’s car left the road at Lane Creek on February 8 and hit a dry creek bed, with the impact leaving him with serious injuries including a broken leg.
Gayndah Police officer-in-charge Sergeant Don Auld said a passing truck driver discovered the wreckage at about 1am and provided emergency care until paramedics and other first responders arrived.
Sergeant Auld said the driver was trapped and had to be extricated from the car using the jaws of life.
The man was then flown to Bundaberg Hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.
The Howard resident has since been charged with driving without due care and attention and unlicensed driving.
Sergeant Auld said police were still investigating the circumstances of the crash, along with was believed to be a stolen solar panel found in the car.
