A North Burnett mum who endured the tragic death of her partner last year said she was moved after the couple's beautiful daughter was voted the region’s cutest bub.
Mum Kelly Lee Beresford said she entered her daughter in the competition to bring some positivity into her family's lives after her partner Trinity ‘Frog’ Bell sadly passed away in a car crash last November.
Little Haisley was voted in by Central and North Burnett Times reader as the region’s cutest baby in our online poll, bringing in more than 15 per cent of the vote.
Ms Beresford said her cuddly bub was a bit of a daddy's girl, with her doting dad putting her to bed every night and teaching her about the world.
“When her dad was still alive, I remember we had one afternoon where we just sat down on our big green lawn with all our dogs,” she said.
“And I just remember him taking her around patting all the dogs and she was just so happy.”
Ms Beresford said Haisley’s love of animals is still strong and she admires how kind and gentle her daughter is with their five dogs, as well as the horses, cows and other farm animals living on the family’s property just outside of Mundubbera.
“She’s never been one of those babies to grab or be rough with an animal,” she said.
“She’ll got to pat them, and you’ll say gentle, and she’ll just look at you and smile and she’ll do it so softly.”
Haisley is less than a year old but already displays so much personality and understanding of the world around her.
“She’ll sometimes look at people with this really intense stare. She’s a funny little character,” Ms Beresford laughed.
“Everyone that meets her just loves her. She’s such a happy and content little baby.”
Haisley’s adoring mum said the cutest thing about her little one is her infectious giggle, which really gets going during a good game of peek-a-boo.
Ms Beresford said she’s thankful her partner was so adamant about taking photos and videos of their little family.
“I’m so glad we did that because that’s what I’ll have to show her when she gets older,” she said.
