Drawn on Saturday night, June 10, the woman checked her ticket Sunday morning and said she spent the rest of the day in a state of blissful shock.
“I discovered my win on Sunday morning and spent the day doing absolutely nothing because I was so stunned,” she said.
“It’s not something that’s very easy to comprehend.”
The Gayndah local has said her first plan for the prize was a brand new shed.
“This is going to change everything. It hasn’t been easy for us but now it makes everything we’ve gone through worthwhile,” she said.
“I can’t get over it! You never expect anything like this to happen to you.”
“I’ll be heading out to try and find a shed now! How exciting!”
The woman picked up her winning ticket at the Gayndah Newsagent, who shared the exciting news on their Facebook page.
Newsagent team member Renee McGilvery said the win was great for the store.
“We can’t believe it! It’s fantastic to know we played a part in changing the life of one of our customers,” she said.
“The whole community is a buzz and the belief that you can really win division one is spreading.”
