Biggenden crash victim dies after crash near Loop Road

An elderly woman who was flown to a Brisbane hospital after a two-car crash near Maryborough on Sunday has died from her injuries.

An 84-year-old Degilbo woman has died following a two-vehicle crash at Biggenden, west of Maryborough, on Sunday.

Police were called to the intersection of Caroline and George Sts just before 9am after a collision between a Toyota Landcruiser and a Hyundai Grandeur.

The female driver and sole occupant of the Hyundai was flown to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, where she died from injuries on Monday.

A 66-year-old Maryborough man, the driver of the Toyota, was not injured.

The Forensic Crash Unit continues to investigate the crash.

Earlier on Sunday, the Queensland Ambulance Service reported the woman had suffered facial injuries and chest pain, and that a chopper had been deployed to the scene of the crash near Biggenden Loop Road.
