Woolworths plans first 'drive-thru' site

Early works have started on a third Woolworths supermarket for Bundaberg.

The store, once built, will be the third for Bundaberg city and the fifth in the greater Bundaberg region.

A Woolworths spokesperson confirmed in a statement to the NewsMail that new store, to be located at Kepnock, would be built in a new suburb entirely.

“As our customers increasingly look for convenient shopping locations, we’re very excited about the opportunity to deliver an exciting new Woolworths supermarket at Kepnock to meet the fresh food and grocery needs of local residents,” they said.

“For customers looking to shop online and pick up their orders, Woolworths Kepnock will also include a new drive-through service area with dedicated parking bays for store-to-boot convenience.”

The NewsMail understands the new Bundaberg store will most likely open sometime next year and will be located on the corner of FE Walker St and the Ring Road.

“We look forward to welcoming customers into our store and will update the local community on our timeline in the coming months,” the spokesperson said.

Woolworths stores are currently located at Sugarland Plaza and Hinkler Central in Bundaberg, as well as Bargara Central in Bargara and in the town of Childers.
