Where to meet and vote for Hinkler candidates in Bundaberg, Fraser Coast
The race for Hinkler is heating up with just days to go before locals can meet their candidates in person and eight pre-polling booths open. Full list below.

Voters are getting the chance to meet their candidates before the first voting booths open across the Bundaberg and Fraser Coast regions from Monday, May 9.
While each both will have its own opening times on certain days, there will be at least one booth open in Bundaberg, Hervey Bay and Maryborough from 8am until 8pm for the entire first week of pre-polling.
In 2019, 53,597 registered voters in the Hinkler electorate voted before election day.
This year, the number of registered voters in the electorate has grown to 117, 306.
Incumbent Federal Member Keith Pitt (LNP), Jason Scanes (Labor), Andrew McLean (Greens), Kristie Nash (UAP), Zak Menhennet (One Nation) and Jack Dempsey (Independent) are all in the running for the Hinkler seat.
The NewsMail and Fraser Coast Chronicle will be running an exit poll on the first day of pre-polling, which will give early indications on which way voters are leaning.
There will be four locations to choose from for Bundaberg region voters, with booths available in the Bundaberg CBD, Bargara and Childers.
A vacant shop front at 1/17 Electra Street, Bundaberg Central will be the main polling booth open from 8am-8pm on the first day and entire week of pre-polling for Bundaberg voters.
Another vacant shop front at 8/33 Maryborough Street, Bundaberg Central will also be available for pre-polling from 8:30am-5:30pm for the first week.
St Peter’s Church in Bargara and a vacant commercial premises at 2 McIlwraith Street, Childers will also open from 8:30am-5:30pm from May 9 for the first week.
Further south on the Fraser Coast, there will be three locations will available to voters.
The Hervey Bay Senior Citizens Centre and the Maryborough Pensioners Association will host the main polling booths which will both open from 8am-8pm for the first week.
A vacant shop front at 4/8 Pier Street, Urangan will be the second polling booth open from 8:30am to 5:30pm for the first week.
Before polling booths open, voters will have the opportunity to meet the candidates in Bundaberg and Hervey Bay.
The Bundaberg Chamber of Commerce will host their ‘Meet the Candidates Forum’ on Thursday, May 12 at the CQU Campus at 5:30pm for a 6pm start.
Fraser Coast voters can meet the candidates in person on Thursday, May 5 from 5.30pm at the Hervey Bay RSL, hosted by the Hervey Bay Chamber of Commerce.
Tickets for both forums must be booked in advance and no questions will be taken from the floor.
