Member for Bundaberg Tom Smith encouraged anyone with an interest to register for the April intake.

“Jobs Queensland has predicted a 10.8 percent increase in the need for skilled workers in the Wide Bay region by 2024-25, and providing locals with the opportunities to fill skilled positions is the best way to achieve those numbers,” he said.

“Fee free TAFE will help to ensure that the services and needs of the Bundaberg community are being met across the aged care sector, disability support sector, retail, hospitality, and trades industries as well.

“More than 1400 students have enrolled in TAFE at the Bundaberg campus this financial year and this number is expected to increase with this offer of fee free TAFE in 2023.”

Minister for Employment and Skills Development Di Farmer encouraged people to register their interest.

“Approximately 84 per cent of TAFE Queensland graduates go into employment or further study so I’d encourage Bundaberg residents to consider a fee free TAFE course in 2023,” she said.

A total of 37,000 free spaces are available across Queensland.
