St Luke‘s Anglican School has once again made its way to the top of the ladder for NAPLAN results.

An independent analysis of newly-released 2022 NAPLAN results has revealed the schools which performed the best in the Year 5 and Year 9 tests.

St Luke‘s, in Kalkie, had better primary results than any other school in Bundaberg, scoring an average of 520.6 across the five test subjects.

Principal Virginia Warner spoke about the methods used at the school.

“At St Luke’s our academic learning programs focus on two key areas that contribute to our students’ success in NAPLAN and across the landscape of learning,” she said.

“Firstly, our learning culture is grounded in a desire to strive for excellence and growth as a measure of personal success.

“Secondly, our exceptional staff work closely with each of our students and develop stimulating learning environments which support our young people to be highly engaged, curious, creative, and independent problem-solvers.”

Mrs Warner said it was a good time to look at the school’s academic achievements as a whole.

“Our NAPLAN results provide important feedback on literacy and numeracy development for individual students and general trends across our cohorts,” she said.
