ST JOSEPH'S Childers P&F has kick-started its Helping Hands project for 2015.

A revived project from the Year 4/5 class in 2012, P&F president Mara Rogers said Helping Hands sought to support the relationship between the school and families by "providing a compassionate and practical service".

"Everyone needs help from time to time, whether it is due to financial difficulties, birth of a new baby, bereavement, health or other circumstances," Mrs Rogers said.

"Our aim is to offer meals to families who find themselves in these challenging times."

She explained the aim of the program was to ensure the school kept a strong stock of meals handy for distribution.

"We aim to keep a stock of freezer meals, grocery vouchers and non-perishable lunch box items with packaging and ingredients from a list available from the school office," she said.

"Donators don't need to be a master chefs.

"If there is no time to cook, grocery vouchers and non-perishable items for lunch boxes are much appreciated."

If you, or someone you know, requires a meal, you can phone the school office confidentially on 4126 1866.
