From the grassroots level through to the FQPL and NPL football across this Sunshine State was exciting during the 2023 season.

Now Queensland’s football clubs and managers are focused on rebuilding, retaining and signing the players they need to push for promotion and premierships.

Dylan Barwick – Surfers Paradise Apollo

Rylee Uttley – Gold Coast United

Darryl Bright – Surfers Paradise Apollo

Teddy Watson – Surfers Paradise Apollo

Jack Pirone – Surfers Paradise Apollo

Returning from Surfers Paradise Apollo, Jack is a hardworking left winger with plenty of skill and a passion for taking on defenders. Jack is a former GCU Academy player, who represented Australia at the 2019 AFF U/15 Championships.

Chris Lucas – Oakleigh Cannons

A prolific goal scorer with an incredible track record in NPL competitions in both Queensland and Victoria, Chris is an ‘original’ Gold Coast United player who played in the A-League Youth competition back in 2012 and made his A-League debut against Sydney FC the same year. Chris returns to the Coast from four seasons with Oakleigh Cannons in the Victorian NPL.

Kenny Akamatsu – Miramar Rangers (New Zealand)

A former Japan youth international, Akamatsu has played in the US with New Mexico United and Sweden

with Ljungskile SK. He comes to the club following a short stint in New Zealand where his time was cut

short by injury.

Dredon Kelly – Broadbeach United

Canadian Dredon Kelly joins Rochedale for the 2024 NPL season after a successful 2023 season at Broadbeach United as they Claimed the Macca’s FQPL 2 Premiership. Nominated for the 2023 FQPL2 Player of the Year and selected in the FQPL2 Team of the Season, Dredon is a defender comfortable on the ball an assured presence on the pitch.

Redlands United

Oohyun Park – Southside Eagles

Oohyun Park joins Redlands United from Macca’s FQPL 1 outfit Southside Eagles. Scoring 9 goals in 2023,

Park looks ready to step up to NPL level with Redlands.

Dylan Mobbs – Kendal Town (England) - At just 20, Mobbs is a competitive and energetic striker. A Brisbane City and Venezia (Italy) graduate, he boasts an impressive football CV as he returns to Queensland following a stint with Kendal Town in the UK.

Abbey Lloyd (SWQ Thunder)

Sarah Bonifant (Lions FC)

Sarah Bonifant joins Souths United from Lions FC after a breakout season in the first team. A young defender who left her mark on the Kappa Women’s Super Cup in 2023, Souths will hope Bonifant can add some defensive quality at the back in 2024.

Pippa Schiavo – Unattached

Emma Sartor – North Brisbane FC

Joining from North Brisbane FC after a standout season in the Macca’s FQPL 2 competition, Sartor will look to make an impact as she steps up to the NPL for 2024

MACCA’S FQPL 1 MEN

Brisbane Strikers

Jayke Cuschieri – Eastern Suburbs

Jayke Cuschieri joins Strikers from Eastern Suburbs. A vastly experienced player at NPL level, Cuschieri won the state title during his time at Moreton Bay United.

Luke Plummer – Brisbane City

Plummer is an experienced centre back who has previously starred for Brisbane City, Peninsula Power, Olympic FC, and Moreton Bay winning multiple major trophies along a fantastic career so far.

Matt Thurtell – Brisbane City

The experienced front man has a proven track record in the both the Queensland and Victorian NPL, With a 100+ goals for Strikers club during his previous spell, Thurtell returns to Perry Park after eight years away.

Scot Coulson – AC Carina

The 28-year-old returns to his old club having starred for Brisbane City, Easts, Rochedale, and Capalaba.

Connor Booth – Olympic FC

A technical midfielder who has starred for Olympic, Peninsula Power and Capalaba, Booth brings quality and experience to the Strikers midfield in 2024

Cameron Nairn – Caboolture Sports FC

An agile forward, Nairn was Caboolture Sports FC’s player of the year for the last two seasons. Having previously won the Sunshine Coast Premier League Player of the Year and Golden Boot, Nairn will look to take the next step up front for the Strikers

Sam Cronin – Peninsula Power

The Former Roar Youth, Olympic and Peninsula Power man will bring plenty of experience to the power. The former two-time NPL Queensland winner brings power and long-range shooting to the Strikers squad.

Adam Edgar – Wynnum Wolves

The frontman boasts an impressive resume of former clubs including Wolves FC, Brisbane City, Olympic FC, Logan, and Mitchelton. A proven goal scorer, Edgar also spent time in the Huddersfield Town and Nike Academies as a junior.

Jerrard Tyson – Sunshine Coast Fire New Strikers goalkeeper Jerrard Tyson has represented several A-League clubs as well as winning an Australian Cup title with Melbourne Victory.

Broadbeach United

Adam Powell – Surfers Paradise Apollo

Adam Powell returns to Broadbeach after a sensational spell at Surfers Paradise, which he captained his side to the 2023 Premiership. Powell can slice open defences with his passing and brings a level of experience to the squad which will see them push for promotion.

Will Peck – Surfers Paradise Apollo

Another member of the successful Surfers Paradise Apollo Premiership squad from 2023, Peck also won the 2022 NPL Grand Final with Gold Coast Knights. Boasting a footballing resume which also includes a stint in England, Will is a solid defender with a magnificent work ethic and will add quality to the Broadbeach backline.

Curtis Stollery – Gold Coast United

Curtis Stollery brings poise and experience to Broadbeach, after spending plenty of time in the NPL at Gold Coast Knights and recently Gold Coast United. Stollery was GCU’s leading goalscorer in the 2023 NPL season and is a statement signing from Leighton Speechley-Price.

Capalaba FC

Adoni Koulouris – Southside Eagles

Adoni is an exciting attacking player with plenty of speed and skills. Having previously spent time at Holland Park Hawks and Southside Eagles, Adoni is well versed in what’s required to lead the line in the Macca’s FQPL 1.

Chris Anderson – Mitchelton FC

Chris is a great leader at the back, a composed player with a great passing game, he will bolster the Bulldogs ranks in 2024.

Mark Ingerson – Western Pride

A solid defender and accomplished leader, Mark is an aerial threat in set-pieces and will be influential at both ends of the pitch.

MACCA’S FQPL 1 WOMEN

Brisbane City

Georgina Worth – Newcastle Jets

Georgina has returned to Brisbane after a spell with the Newcastle Jets. Boasting plenty of experience at W-League level, Georgina is an excellent modern goalkeeper between the sticks and will be an invaluable addition to the City Squad.

Jonti Fisher – FQ Academy QAS

A graduate from the FQ Academy QAS squad, Jonti boasts a relentless workrate and will be looking to leave her mark on the competition in 2024

Tully Heatley – FQ Academy QAS One of the standout players in the 2023 FQ Academy QAS squad, Tully Heatley posesses remarkable creativity alongside a stellar work rate, and is a player with the ability to win the game on her own with a moment of quality.

Broadbeach United

Amy Langworthy – Gold Coast United

Joining from NPL Grand Finalist Gold Coast United, Amy will bring quality and commitment to Broadbeach for the 2024 season.

Norwegian defender Marthe Dagestad Ragnvaldsen rejoins Broadbeach United for the 2024 season after spending a year out on the sidelines injured. Marthe is a technically superb defender, who reads the game well and has a strong competitive spirit.

Capalaba FC

Ubume Hyogo – Brisbane City

Ubume joins Capalaba from Brisbane City FC for the 2024 season. A dynamic forward with a wealth of experience playing across Australia and Japan, Hyogo will add a new dimension to Capalaba’s attack.
