Bundaberg’s renown as a ‘food bowl’ is set to be on full display next week with the 2021 Taste Bundaberg Festival kicking off.

After COVID-19 cancelled the festival last year, it’s back with a mix of new events and old favourites.

Bundaberg Regional Council events portfolio spokesperson Cr John Learmonth said ticketed events on the Taste program have always sold out quickly and this year was no different.

“Among the new events are the sold out Banquet on the Bridge, First Nations Dining Experience and the Taste Bundaberg Festival Signature Dinner with Poh Ling Yeow,” Cr Learmonth said.

“There are still tickets left to see Poh in action at the Local Flavours by Poh cooking demonstrations.

“The Windmill Café Bargara also recently announced another first for the 10-day Taste Bundaberg event with its Sweet Potato Feastival.”

Cr Learmonth said the highly popular free events the Chilli and Lime Festival and the Taste Farmers Market are back to launch the festival on the first weekend.

The Taste Bundaberg Festival runs from June 11-20.
