11 big events coming to Bundy in June you won’t want to miss

The much anticipated Taste Bundaberg Festival will return to the region this month, and there’s bound to be something for everyone with Fred Brophy’s Boxing Troupe, Pop-Up Polo, Karise Eden and more also in the calendar: See the list.

Starting with the Maroons and ending with the likes of Fred Brophy’s Boxing Troupe and Prada Clutch, there’s a busy month of events scheduled to hit Bundaberg this June.

Here’s a list of some of the region’s upcoming events:

Echoes of Pink Floyd

Australia’s largest scale Pink Floyd concept act Echoes of Pink Floyd is coming to the Moncrieff Entertainment Centre on June 5.

For those wishing to get a seat to all the musical action, adult tickets are $75, pensioner and government senior tickets are $70, and child U18 tickets are $45.

Taste Bundaberg Festival

The Chilli & Lime Festival and Bert’s Pop Up will kick off the 2021 Taste Bundaberg Festival on June 11 at 5pm.

The free chilli and lime event is celebrated through entertainment, food and drinks at Riverfeast, to register click here.

While the Bert’s event will be held at CQUniversity, 6 University Drive, with an evening of local produce, drinks and music.

Taste Farmers Market

With some of the region’s produce on display, the Taste Farmers Market will fill Alexandra Park (West) on Quay St come June 12.

This free event will run from 7–11am with celebrity chef Poh Ling Yeow making a special appearance at the market with 200 free, signed cookbooks ready to hand out to those lucky enough to find her first.

Opera Queensland’s Are You Lonesome Tonight

Celebrating opera and country music, Are You Lonesome Tonight is set to feature arias and songs by Puccini, Verdi, Slim Dusty, Troy Cassar-Daley and Dolly Parton among others at the Moncrieff Entertainment Centre.

The cast includes Irena Lysiuk, Marcus Corowa and Jonathan Hickey.

Tickets for adult are $35, pensioner and student tickets are $28, 20yrs and under tickets $20, while Group 6+ are $26, and Group 10+ are $24.

Weathering Well

ABC’s revered weather presenter Jenny Woodward brings her charming one-woman stage show to the Moncrieff Entertainment Centre on June 19.

Adult tickets are $35, pensioner and student tickets area $28, 20yrs and under $20, Group 6+ $26, Group 10+ $24.

2021 Pop-Up Polo Bundaberg

The Bundaberg Pop-Up Polo event is returning to the region on June 19 at the Bundaberg Recreational Precinct.

Pop-Up Polo Series Ambassador (2021) Paige Van Lunteren previous said they were bringing the event back to help promote the region and give the locals an event to get out and enjoy.

“We’ve got an action-packed day of events planned for 2021, we’re bringing back the famous divot stomp, fashions of the field, the men’s and women’s dash and the car verse pony race,” she said.

“We’ve also got $1000 worth of prizes to give away which we’re really excited about.”

This year Pop-Up Polo is closing the Taste Bundaberg Festival and aims to showcase local hospitality and produce.

Ticket price ranges from $55 – $199.

The Jazz Singer at the Paragon

Step back in time with a screening of the first film shown in the Paragon Theatre in 1927 The Jazz Singer (G)

This event is a collaboration between The Paragon, film buff Joel Archer from Golden Oldies Films who will host the event and special guest, Ron West (owner of the Majestic Theatre, Pomona) who will be accompanying the film on piano.

The screening will take place on Sunday, June 20 at 4pm with doors open from 3pm.

Karise Eden at the Old Bundy Tavern

Live and acoustic, Karise Eden is set to play at the Old Bundy Tavern on Thursday, June 24.

In 2018, she released her third album Born to Fight now she’s on the road to Bundy.

Fred Brophy’s Boxing Troupe

Back in Bundaberg for two nights, Brophy’s Boxing Troupe will be at Burnett Heads on June 25 and 26.

Tickets are currently on sale at the Lighthouse Hotel-Motel.

On Friday night, June 25, the all male choreographed dance show that is Sydney Hotshots Live hits the Sugarland Tavern.

Prada Clutch’s All-Drag Revue

The ‘six-foot something songstress’ Prada Clutch headlines a show which pays tribute to the history of Aussie drag in concert on June 26.

Held at the Moncrieff Entertainment Centre, the show starts at 8pm.

Adult tickets are $65, while pensioner, government senior, unemployed student and children under 16 tickets are $60, and Group 10+ tickets are $59.
