A new organic and wholefoods store will open its doors in Bundaberg on Friday.
The Barn Wholefoods is the brainchild of Bundaberg born and bred nutritionist Shaylea Small, who says she wanted to see healthier food options in the region.
“”There’s not many wholefoods type stores in Bundy,” she said.
“I was struggling to find healthy yet exciting food options.”
Ms Small set up the shop with some “massive help” from dad Brendan.
“It’s taken a little while, but it’s very exciting,” she said.
The store will feature allergy-friendly and fodmap foods, as well as a large plant-based range.
There will also be a range of organic fruits and vegetables on offer.
Ms Small said she had personally inspected every label to and had sourced organic products wherever possible.
“I’ve checked the ingredient lists and the nutritional panels to make sure there’s no nasty ingredients or additives,” she said.
A range of cold-pressed juices, smoothies and coffee will be available.
The Barn Wholefoods will open from Friday, January 28, at 62 Takalvan St.
