QFES contains fire at Torquay home in Hervey Bay
Firefighters and paramedics rushed to a Hervey Bay home after its owners discovered their kitchen had caught fire.

Fire crews and paramedics attended a house fire in Torquay late Monday evening.
The occupants of the house called emergency services shortly after 6pm to report a fire in the kitchen.
QAS paramedics arrived at the single-story timber house on Torquay Tce at 6.21pm, with two QFES fire crews arriving shortly afterwards at 6.30pm.

The fire crews extinguished the 10m x 15m fire within five minutes.
A QFES spokesman confirmed the fire originated in the oven within the kitchen.
Fire crews remained on the scene to ensure that the house was properly ventilated, and handed the property back to the owner at 7pm.
