Investigators on Wednesday released a new CCTV image of Peter Hodgins, who was last seen leaving an aged care facility along Morgan Street, Childers around 6.45pm, heading south towards Broadhurst Street.
Mr Hodgins was last seen wearing a blue polo shirt, jeans, brown shoes and a dark coloured coat (pictured).
Search efforts are continuing in Childers, with SES volunteer, QRAT aerial drone support, QFES and QPS trail bikes joining the search.
Residents in both Childers, Townsville and neighbouring areas are urged to check their properties, sheds and structures for signs of Mr Hodgins.
Mr Hodgins suffers from dementia and may be confused or disoriented.
Police have focused their search on the area around the aged care facility.
Bundaberg Police Chief Inspector Grant Marcus said police received information late Monday afternoon that Mr Hodgins had possibly been spotted on Thompson Rd in Childers.
Police are appealing for Childers residents to check their yards and buildings for Mr Hodgins.
Mr Hodgins is described as caucasian, about 180cm tall, with a slim build, hazel eyes and brown hair.
He was wearing a black coat, blue polo shirt, with jeans and brown shoes.
Officers are appealing for anyone with information about Peter’s whereabouts to contact Policelink.
