A joint police traffic operation has cracked down on dodgy drivers in the region.

Officers from Highway Patrol Bundaberg/Maryborough, Bundaberg Station, Bargara Station, Bundaberg Criminal Investigation Branch and Queensland Transport (QT) Inspectors conducted Operation Uniform Horizon.

The purpose of the operation was to target hooning and drug driving offences in crash zones and areas of concern for members of the public.

The operation occurred between June 9 and June 11.

During the operation, officers conducted 114 roadside breath tests (RBTs) in addition to four negative roadside drug tests (RDTs).

Police intercepted vehicles and directed 12 to the QT inspection pits where mechanical inspections were undertaken by QT and owners were directed to modify vehicles back to manufacturers specifications in accordance with the vehicle standards.

Numerous traffic infringement notices were issued during the operation including 12 defect notices (eight major, four minor), three fail to stop at stop sign, one speeding, one fail to wear helmet while riding bicycle, one drive unregistered vehicle and one drive uninsured vehicle.

A 41-year-old Bundaberg woman was also charged with drink driving after allegedly registering a blood alcohol concentration of 0.64 per cent.

She is expected to appear before the Bundaberg Magistrates Court on July 14.
