The court heard Ball-Spencer, 24, was pulled over by police in Qunaba on October 29, 2021, leading to the discovery of meth, a drug pipe and the prescription medication.

Ball-Spencer’s saliva tested positive for meth and police found she was unlicensed at the time, having had a six-month suspension against her due to loss of demerit points.

Some other offences brought before the court on Monday related to incidents on November 30, 2021.

It was heard that Ball-Spencer had a history of offending and magistrate Edwina Rowan noted she was a “repeat unlicensed offender”.

Supported in court by her partner, Ball-Spencer was told it was time to take action against her drug use and seek therapeutic intervention.

“I’m giving you the opportunity today to address some of your drug abuse,”’ Ms Rowan said.

“The sentence I will impose today means essentially you’re your own jailer.”

For possessing a dangerous drug on October 29, Ball-Spencer was sentenced to a two months jail, suspended for 12 months.

For possessing a drug pipe, she was convicted and not further punished.

For drug driving, Ball-Spencer was fined $300 and disqualified from driving for three months.

For driving with no licence while demerit point suspended, Ball-Spencer was fined $300 and disqualified for six months.

For possessing dangerous drugs on November 30, 2021, Ball-Spencer received a two-month prison sentence, suspended for 12 months.
