Police investigating Branyan, Avoca, Burnett Heads break-ins

A car and bank cards are among the items stolen in a crime spree. Now, police have revealed the suburbs and streets being targeted by Bundaberg thieves.

Investigations are ongoing after a red 2017 Nissan X-Trail stolen from a home in Neville Drive, Branyan on Monday night was found.

A suspect and the car was located by police at an address in Gracemere in the Rockhampton region on Wednesday afternoon.

No charges had been laid at the time of publishing.

A number of items were also stolen from inside the home of the car’s owner including bank cards, identification cards and cash.

She posted to Facebook saying the incident had left her shaken.

“We had all new locks put on the house and key fobs changed,” the post read.

“I just feel so sick in my own house now.”

A number of other break-ins took place nearby, including a vehicle parked at another residence on Neville Drive, Branyan where thieves stole a bank card, earrings, glasses and a laptop.

Two residences on Darby Street, Branyan had a combined five vehicles broken into, where keys and a sum of cash was stolen.

A vehicle parked on City Vue Terrace, Avoca was broken into where a laptop, a watch, shoes and hobby equipment was stolen.

The majority of these vehicles had been left unlocked.

Police say it’s highly likely the thefts in Branyan and Avoca are all linked.

A trailer was also targeted on the same night on Gibsons Road, Burnett Heads with a number of power tools stolen.

Police are currently investigating these offences and request that if anyone has information in relation to the matters to please contact police.
