Fireys have worked for more than two hours to free a truck driver man left trapped by a tree following a serious two-vehicle head-on crash at the Carmans Rd and Bruce Highway intersection at Monduran.
Multiple emergency crews were called to the scene of the crash at 10.25am Monday, following reports of the two vehicles colliding.
The man, aged in his 20s, was left trapped inside his truck with a “large tree” reportedly breaking through the windshield during the crash.
Fireys were forced to cut the roof of the truck off to free the man, finally able to pull him from the wreckage shortly before 1pm.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said the man was then treated by paramedics for pelvic and abdominal injuries before being loaded onto a nearby rescue helicopter.
The man was taken to Bundaberg Hospital in a stable condition for further treatment.
It comes after the Lifeflight helicopter was in action for another incident in the Wide Bay region involving a truck earlier in the day.
