The case of Bargara business couple Michael and Christine Owens will progress through the courts in 2023, with a trial date set for their fraud charges to be dealt with.
The pair have been on bail, undergoing several mentions in the magistrates court as they await their matters to be moved up.
Christine Louise Owens faces two charges of fraud - dishonest application of property subject of trust/direction/condition/on account of another by director/member of governing body.
She faces a further charge of breaching bail, and one of stealing by directors or officers of companies.
Michael Patrick Owens faces one count of fraud - dishonest application of property subject of trust/direction/condition on account of another by employee.
He faces a further count of stealing by clerks and servants and one count of breaching bail.
The pair’s next mention will be in the Bundaberg Magistrates Court on March 21, 2023.
The single charge of fraud against each defendant will be heard as a trial in the Bundaberg District Court from August 21, 2023.
Pleas have not yet been entered on their other charges.
