A man has been fined after he was found with marijuana in his system while driving on the Bruce Highway.
Peter Karl Schmidt pleaded guilty in Bundaberg Magistrates Court on Monday to one count of driving with a drug in his saliva.
The court heard Schmidt was pulled over at random driving on the Bruce Highway at Bororen on the afternoon of May 24.
He participated in a drug test which returned a positive result, with a secondary test showing he had THC in his saliva.
Schmidt, who was self represented, told the court he didn’t realise the drug would be in his system and that his licence had recently expired.
He was fined $250 and disqualified from holding a licence for one month.
A conviction was not recorded.
