Emergency crews rushed to the scene of a crash on June 9, 2021, where a car and truck collided at the South Bingera intersection of Childers and Walkers Roads near Bundaberg.

While the driver of the truck was uninjured, the woman driving the car needed to be taken to hospital.

It was the contents of her car’s centre console, revealed in the aftermath of the crash, that put her before Bundaberg Magistrates Court on Monday.

A large clip-seal bag containing 42.5g of marijuana was discovered, along with 118 marijuana seeds and a plastic drinking bottle converted into a bong.

The court heard the drugs and drug items were spotted in the towing yard after the vehicle had been removed from the scene of the crash.

The court heard Julieanne Cady told police she had purchased the marijuana for $200.

The court heard the defendant had recently suffered a relationship breakdown and ongoing family illness and had been trying to return to normality after a tumultuous time in her life.

Cady pleaded guilty to the offences of possessing a drug utensil and possessing dangerous drugs.

Magistrate Andrew Moloney released Cady on a $500 six-month good behaviour bond and she must attend a drug information session.

No convictions were recorded.
