Bundaberg District Court dismisses rape trial

A rape trial stemming from allegations two men attacked a woman at a popular Queensland campsite has ended abruptly.

A rape trial has been dismissed in the Bundaberg District Court with the jury sent home and the future of the case uncertain.

Jake Edward Ansell and Cory John Bradbury had pleaded not guilty to two counts of rape.

The charges related to an alleged attack on a woman at Coonarr Beach on August 4, 2018.

The trial was cancelled on Tuesday after it was revealed an issue had arisen during cross-examination on Monday which made it impossible for the proceedings to continue.

This means there was no verdict.
