Childers drug operation accused face court at Bundaberg
More than a dozen people charged over a multimillion-dollar drug operation near Bundaberg have had their case mentioned as it moves to a higher court.

More than a dozen people accused of growing $235 million worth of marijuana plants at Isis Central have had their cases mentioned in court.
Police carried out an extensive drug operation near Apple Tree Creek in October, which uncovered almost 47,000 marijuana plants and seedlings with an estimated street value of $235 million.

The accused offenders, including men and women aged from 25 to 52, did not appear in Bundaberg Magistrates Court on Thursday.
Each of the accused was represented by an individual lawyer, with some appearing in person or by phone.
Duy Khanh Bui, Kar Choy Chan, Zi Cheng, Siew Tong Choong, Kai Ming Long, Lan Thi Nguyen, Truc Cao Hoang Nguyen, Cuong Ba Phung, Mun Kah Siew, Simon Tran, Tien Tran, Hui Kiong Wong and Lee Tek Yee each face one charge each of producing dangerous drugs, possessing dangerous drugs, possessing anything for use in the commission of a crime, and possessing anything used in the commission of a crime.
Due to the alleged quantities involved, the will matters will be escalated to a higher court.
The group is expected to appear in Bundaberg Magistrates Court for another committal mention in the new year.
Each defendant remains in custody.
