A man arrested in Bargara after allegedly kidnapping a woman at gunpoint last weekend has fronted a Bundaberg court on multiple charges, including assault, kidnapping and car theft.

Antonio Abramovic, 31, was remanded in custody to Bundaberg Magistrates Court when he appeared and entered no plea on Wednesday, July 20. He was arrested at Bargara on Tuesday, July 19, and will face court again on September 27.

At about 1pm on July 15, it is alleged Mr Abramovic attended the address of a Burpengary East woman known to him and threatened her with a handgun before forcing her into her car.

The pair travelled south along the M1 in a grey Hyundai before stopping in traffic at Tallebudgera at about 2.30pm, police allege.

The woman fled the vehicle and approached a nearby New South Wales ambulance and asked for help, they allege.

Paramedics transported her to Elanora Police Beat.

It is alleged the man then drove back to the Burpengary East address before leaving on foot.

The woman suffered bruising to her face during the incident, police say.

Mr Abramovic was arrested in Bargara on July 19, and charged with 10 offences, including kidnapping, assault occasioning bodily harm, unlawful possession of a weapon and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

Investigations are ongoing, with police calling on any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage of the grey Hyundai i30 to come forward.
