Allan Bruce Reece in court for having child exploitation material

The 69-year-old had no prior criminal history before the discovery of the material.

A 69-year-old man who had a collection of 8291 child exploitation images faced the Bundaberg District Court on Thursday.

Allan Bruce Reece pleaded guilty to possessing child exploitation material and will be sentenced later this year.

The court heard Reece was 68 years old when he was found with the images in January, 2021.

He had no prior criminal history, it heard.

His sentence was adjourned because of insufficient information on the exact nature of the images.

Judge Michael Rackemann requested more detail on the severity of the files in Reece’s possession, of which 3480 were declared to be unique images.

Reece remains on bail.
