One injured in Isis Hwy truck blaze

A truck driver has had close call while travelling on a Bundaberg region highway, with his vehicle going up in flames.

A man has been rushed to hospital after the truck he was driving went up in flames while travelling along the Isis Hwy on Sunday night.

Emergency services were rushed to the scene at about 8.37pm following reports the truck had caught fire.

Queensland Fire Department spokesman said the truck’s engine caught fire, with oil then spilling along the Isis Hwy near Ban Ban Springs.

He said fireys first put out the fire and then cleared the area of oil.

The driver was treated by paramedics for minor injuries and taken to Gayndah hospital in a stable condition.
